Processing |
| The processing yards will receive ferrous and nonferrous metals over their scales from the general public, from our Asset Recovery Division and from other processing yards. They will sort the materials into different categories by utilizing the latest technologies, including the use of alloy analyzers, magnets and eddy currents to maximize value of the recovered material. The metal will then be “prepared” or cut to specifications as defined by the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) using shears, propane torches, shredders and other methods. Once prepared, the material will be loaded by a mechanized container loader or manually loaded using a skid steer into ocean freight containers for export, or into open-top trucks for shipment to local mills. |
